Jamie Dale - Jamie would like to tutor Pre-K through 3rd graders.She is a current WCS teacher who has her National Board Certification, Masters Degree in Elementary Education through ASU, AIG Certification through UNCP, and is an Adjunct Instructor at ASU.

Jenny McCourry - Jenny is a long-time Watauga County Schools teacher, with her BS in K-6 elementary education and a Master's Degree in reading education. She is also National Board Certified in early childhood education. Jenny was recognized as a Teacher of the Year in 2013 at Hardin Park School, and believes in differentiation and teaching to the multiple intelligences because she understands that every child has the ability to learn but not every child learns in the same way. She is also available for homeschool outsourcing. 

Amy Forrester - Amy is a pre-service educator, currently in her final semester at Appalachian State University and practicing in the field. She is educated in all current Common Core and Essential Standards and employs up-to-date best practices for 21st century skills and education. Amy also maintains a place on the Chancellor’s list for the Reich College of Education. Amy believes in finding a personal connection with students to create motivation. (K-4)

Char Chiarolanzio is a second grade teacher at Parkway School. She has experience teaching kindergarteners and second graders, and would love to help keep your children's skills sharp this summer! Char is certified as a K-6 teacher..

Jessica Mains graduated in 2010 with an elementary education degree and a concentration in Mathematics. Taught half-time in middle school mathematics for one year, high school mathematics for one year and is currently serving at risk youth and teaching Mathematics, English/ Language Arts, Science and Social Studies to 7th and 8th graders. She has many years of tutoring experience in Mathematics and is certified K-6 with additional certification in 6-9 mathematics and Science.

Lauren Collier is a 5th grade teacher at Parkway School. She loves teaching and enjoys seeing students succeed in all areas. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-6 certification) and a Master's Degree in Reading (K-12 certification), both of which are from ASU. She is also certified in Middle School English Language Arts. She has taught grades 3, 4, and 5 and Reading. She would be happy to tutor grades 3-5 or Middle School!

Emily Nolte is a Social Studies teacher at Watauga High School.  She has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies for Secondary Education from ASU, with a concentration in Sociology.  She has taught all of the core Social Studies courses at the high school level, as well as several electives.  Her goal is to teach students to analyze historical events so they can understand concepts that apply to the past, present, and future.  Emily is available to tutor high school students in any social studies course. 

DeAnna Lyons is a 5th grade teacher at Hardin Park School and enjoys working with students of all ages Kindergarten through 6th grade. She has her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, and has taught both second and fifth grade . She has recently been trained in Math Foundations to help aid students in the understanding of Common Core math. She is excited and willing to help students of all ages and in all subject areas (K-6). She understands the importance of embracing the diverse learning styles of each student, and will work diligently to meet your child's academic needs.

Katie Blackburn graduated in 2002 from ASU with an Elementary Education degree. She has taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade and Kindergarten. She also has a Masters Degree in Reading Education from ASU. She has tutored for many years and is excited to continue working with students in this way while she takes some time off from teaching.

Taylor Sims graduated with honors this May from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Education (K-12 certification) and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. Taylor also studied for a semester at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. She completed her student teaching at Ashe County High School where she taught Spanish I and II. She uses authentic stories, songs, and games to engage students in a fun learning experience. Taylor is available to tutor in Spanish or ESL for grades K-12.

 

Meagan Lancaster is currently a 5th grade math and science teacher.  She loves teaching and seeing students succeed!  She graduated from ASU with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  She has experience in kindergarten as well as second grade.  Meagan is excited to work with children of all ages!

Caleb Marsh is a seven year veteran of the North Carolina State Education system. Much of his tenure has been spent as a faculty member with Caldwell Community College and Appalachian State University. He also spent several years working with the Mathematics Departments at Watauga High School and South Caldwell High School. Caleb loves working with students and cannot wait to assist you in becoming the best student that you can be.
